Jeff George
Jeff George is the Managing Partner of Maytal Capital, a healthcare-focused private equity and venture capital firm he founded in 2017, and a Partner at Bridge Builders Collaborative, an early-stage venture firm focused on mental health.
Jeff has two decades of global healthcare and corporate leadership experience across North America, Europe, and emerging markets. Between 2008 and 2016, Jeff served on the Executive Committee of Novartis Group, first as global CEO of Germany-based Sandoz, Novartis’s $10 billion revenue generic pharmaceutical and biosimilar subsidiary. He was then CEO of Texas-based Alcon, Novartis’s $10 billion revenue eye care division.
Earlier in his career, Jeff served as head of Emerging Markets at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, as Vice President and Head of Western & Eastern Europe for Novartis Vaccines, as Senior Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Gap Inc., and as Engagement Manager with McKinsey & Co.
Jeff is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors at MAPS Public Benefit Corporation, which has an FDA-designated breakthrough therapy for PTSD in late Phase 3 clinical trials. He also serves on the board of directors at Amneal Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: AMRX), a leading specialty and generic pharma company and Dorian Therapeutics, a cell therapy biotechnology company. He also serves on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations including Education Opens Doors, where he is Chairman, the North Texas Food Bank, and YPO of Dallas. Jeff previously served on the board of directors of Roam Analytics, an artificial intelligence healthcare software firm; Wishbone Medical, a pediatric orthopedic medical device company; and AdvaMed, the medical device industry association.
Jeff holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Carleton College.
