The Harris County Hazardous Materials Response Team (HCHMRT) out of Texas was created following the events of September 11, 2001 and serves as a division of the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office. They are responsible for responding to incidents involving hazardous materials and suspected incidents of homeland security, including chemical, biological, radiological, and other emergencies across nearly 2000 miles aiding 4.7 million citizens.
They are also our 908th customer.
As one the busiest and most capable hazmat teams in the country we were of course delighted they chose MX908 to support the needs of their response mission. Here is what the Assistant Chief of Emergency Operations for Harris County, Bob Royall, had to say about MX908:
“The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office purchased an MX908 Device in 2019. The device has now been integrated into our detection and monitoring suite giving us the ability to more effectively assess potential threats. We have found the device to be easy to use and quick to detect trace amounts of controlled substances and chemical agents. Having the 908 in our toolbox helps us better protect our responders by reducing the chances of an inadvertent exposure.”
The MX908 was launched in June of 2017 and was the first of its kind. A new product, based on a new technology, aimed at providing the best capability for fast and reliable trace chemical detection.
In just a few short years since then we are proud that leading organizations like HCHMRT and others around the world have added the unique capabilities of MX908 to their toolkits. From Houston to New Zealand, MX908 is in over 30 countries and on 5 continents providing hazmat teams, law enforcement agencies, federal and military organizations the ability to quickly and confidently identify priority chemical threats in seconds.
