Workshop for hazmat gas detection

Law Enforcement Workshop

The Opioid Crisis has plagued the United States for over a decade. Current data from DEA Laboratories reveals that 6 out of every 10 fentanyl-laced fake prescription pills contain a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl. The unique challenge presented by low concentration and highly potent counterfeit pills requires special training for law enforcement to investigate.

This workshop provides an overview of the rise of the opioid epidemic in the US and particularly, the rise of fentanyl. Through the use of real-life case studies, attendees learn how to safely respond and investigate the scene of an overdose while receiving hands-on training with our MX908 device. The workshop prepares attendees to act in an undercover role by using social media to identify and investigate suspected distributors of counterfeit pills and fentanyl powder. An overview of various federal charges related to overdoses and overdose deaths will help prepare attendees for successful prosecution.

Hazmat Gas Detection Workshop:

Close the capability gap in hazmat response with cutting-edge FTIR technology. This workshop explores how real-time gas identification enables the responder to assess potential hazards, resolve cross-sensitivities in existing meters, and make critical decisions at the point of contact with unknown materials.

Learn how an accurate identification early in the response helps the responder select appropriate PPE, informs response tactics, and determines correction factors for accurate quantification. Gain hands-on experience with the XplorIR and other air monitors to identify and quantify common threats, enhance your detection and mitigation strategies, and ensure a faster and safer hazmat response.
