908 Devices, a pioneer of ridiculously small and elegantly simple analytical devices for chemical and biomolecule analysis, today announced the signing of a Value Added Reseller (VAR) Agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science. This co-exclusive two-year partnership agreement empowers Thermo Fisher to sell ZipChip™ as a complementary front-end separations platform with its High Resolution Accurate Mass (HRAM) mass spectrometry (MS) instruments.
“This is an exciting time for our ZipChip technology, and we’re thrilled to be working with Thermo Fisher, a clear leader in mass spectrometry, to raise customer capabilities to new heights,” said Dr. Trent Basarsky, VP and GM of Life Sciences, 908 Devices. “Thermo Fisher’s sales channel in combination with our own established sales network significantly increases ZipChip’s accessibility, providing customers with new capabilities that significantly improve what they can see with their MS instruments.”
Users of the Thermo Scientific Q Exactive series, Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Elite and Thermo Scientific LTQ Orbitrap XL instruments can benefit from the fast separations generated by ZipChip for enhanced MS analysis. By seamlessly integrating with existing data collection processes, the platform is enabling significant analytical strides throughout the industry.
“Today’s biopharma customers require efficient techniques that enable them to quickly and accurately perform MS analysis across a broad range of sample types,” said Iain Mylchreest, Vice President, Research and Development, Analytical Instruments Group, Thermo Fisher Scientific. “As a result of this collaboration, it’s now easier than ever for our customers to benefit from this combination of fast separations and best-in-class MS analysis to achieve high-quality results.”
ZipChip is an innovative platform that provides high-quality separation capabilities as a front-end for MS. Using integrated microfluidic technology, ZipChip prepares, separates and electrosprays biological samples directly into traditional MS instruments. This rapid separation capability is revolutionizing the analysis of small and large molecules, allowing researchers to keep pace with rising analytical demands like never before. With the recent release of the ZipChip Autosampler, ZipChip Assay Kits, and a unique built-in chip recognition intelligence system for all chips, the ZipChip platform is radically improving process efficiencies for automated sample analysis throughout the biopharma industry.
Through this co-exclusive agreement, sales channels from 908 Devices and Thermo Fisher will both sell ZipChip products and provide unparalleled support for customers throughout the biopharma industry.
