The following 60-minute lane places participants in scenario-based responses where a welfare check or “sick building” call evolves into a chemical hazard or illicit laboratory discovery. Working in assigned teams, attendees apply a toolbox detection approach using multiple verification technologies to detect, sample, and identify unknown hazards. Equipment utilized includes multi-gas monitoring with PID, gas and vapor localization, bulk liquid and solid identification via FTIR/Raman, and trace/aerosol detection systems. Emphasis is placed on public safety sampling techniques, coordinated team operations, and rapid field identification to support incident decision-making.
